Hello friends and fellow creatives. I’m taking a break from my usual navel-gazing to provide a list of resources for creative freelancers in the Netherlands during the corona crisis. I know it can be especially challenging to sift through this information when you’re not a native speaker, so I’m providing an alternate in English. If you have more links to add, email me, in Dutch or English. If you have general innovative tips for creative freelancers located anywhere, such as virtual networking or new avenues for finding or selling work, get in touch. I’ll start a different thread in a different blog post soon.
TOZO – Temporary Financial Support Measure for Self-Employed Professionals
If you are a self-employed professional (zzp-er), you will be able to apply to your municipality for the temporary financial support measure for self-employed professionals (Tozo) with retroactive effect from 1 March 2020. The support consists of:
- Income support, this can amount to a maximum of €1,500 (net). You do not have to repay, and there is no capital or partner test.
- A loan for business capital to a maximum amount of €10,157. You do have to repay this loan, but it is possible to request a delay of your payment obligation.
Here’s a quick link to a freelancer and small business assistance page in English for those of you who live in Amsterdam.
