At long last! I can reveal more about my two-book deal and how it happened.
Eureka Drawing Stories, written and illustrated by Rachelle Meyer, is a graphic novel series for kids that blends storytelling, drawing instruction, and creative self-discovery. In each book, the act of drawing becomes part of how Ray or Tracy works through something difficult. Published by The Creative Company, the first two books are scheduled for release in fall 2028.

Have you seen the new banknote designs for @europeancentralbank ? I dare say the UURos I created for @societijd_de_gezelligheid could give them a run for their money! 🥸We’ve got birds, local heroes, and our beloved ferries. This is what Amsterdam Noord is made of.

September 11th, 2001. I’m settling in with a coffee and a blueberry muffin that I snagged from the catering table, preparing for my day as a freelance retoucher for a photoshoot in the Fashion District, Midtown Manhattan. Someone announces that there’s been an accident at the World Trade Center. Several of us crowd into the conference room and turn on the television just in time to see the second plane hit.
“I don’t know what will happen next, but I’m going to take as many sandwiches as possible,” I think, heading over to the catering table and filling my backpack to capacity.
Read the rest at the link in bio. I ❤️ NY.

Breathing life into new characters with color and quirky details. My dad was a fan of the guayabera shirt, and he seemed to have a purpose assigned to each pocket.

Read the latest at Rachelle’s Comics Corner for insight into my creative process, including sketches, inspiration, and which song I had on a loop to pump me up.
“Everything starts with messy sketches. I don’t try to make beautiful art, I simply jot notes down visually, words and pictures in tandem. My phone is in another room. Sometimes I light a candle. I often have ambient music playing. I am also playing. There are no bad ideas, only interruptive thoughts, which I make a point of shooing away if they try to start pruning the work too soon.”
Doodles on my writing desk…
… develop into a legible pitch.
Thank for the photo, @tonywolfness !

Dutch word of the day: Plons(en). Best I can translate, it’s like “taking a dip” – recreational splashing around. I’ve seen it used a lot during the current heatwave. How are you refreshing yourself? 🌞💧 #sketchbook #plons #heatwave
